The first computers were big and expensive. For circuitry, they used vacuum tubes, and they used up a huge amount of electricity. They also ended up generating a big amount of heat. They would malfunction often. They used machine language. Machine language was the lowest level programming language. The UNIVAC and ENIAC are examples of first generation computers."ENIAC was conceived and designed by John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert of the University of Pennsylvania."
